Spring 2023: out with the old, in with the knew
New roles, podcasts, invitations, tips, and more
Hiii
Today is the first day of Spring on the other side of the vernal equinox.
There’s an inconsistency to these newsletters and, frankly, I’m no longer ashamed of it. I can’t say that I was on retreat, or meditating in a cave somewhere for months only to emerge with some deep hidden truths… nope
It’s really just a reflection of being buried beneath this modern life and all the stresses that come with it. Regardless of my inability to consistently put out a tech-life balance newsletter, I hope you are well and increasingly resilient in these trying times.
What’s covered in this post:
• Announcing a new role with Swell Audio
• New podcast guest appearance
• What’s brewing in my world of tea
• Newly published report on the state of remote work
📣 Announcement 📣
I’ve recently started a new role as an associate producer & outreach wizard with Swell
Since we all have become acquainted with podcasting over the years, I’d like to introduce you to Swellcasting a form of micro-podcasting that instantly creates threaded 5-minute audio-only voice recordings into an asynchronous - meaningful - powerful conversation. Swell is an interactive audio app that helps people connect with each other even when they are not together, through the power and immediacy of their voices. Swell places people's authenticity, emotion and intention front and center of the social experience. If you’ve been disenchanted by the fall of Twitter, the over-saturation of Clubhouse, or the non-human experience of FB/IG then I invite you to join Swell.
Pod appearance
I recently sat down with Cassie Widders, a fellow digital wellness coach and podcaster, on her podcast to discuss what slowing down, tea culture, and screen-free breaks have in common
I had a delightful time on her show, The Digital Wellness Podcast, and hope you enjoy the conversation.
What’s brewing in my world of Tea 🍵
I’ve started offering my immersive tea experience in-person again. It’s called Hyperslow and it’s specially tailored to employee wellness programming. Last month I sat down with the innovation team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles at their quarterly retreat on a rainy day in Los Angeles. I served a 7-year aged puerh tea to a team of 12 and it filled me with deep joy & humility to be of service and help fellow technologists slow tf down.
I also had the privilege of collaborating with Muy Wellness and served tea to a large group of 20 wonderful human beings at their retreat here in Los Angeles hosted in a gorgeous property on top of Topanga Canyon.
